The 5th FL!P Challenge that ended 6 March 2009 is the final installment of this competition. Introduced five years ago, FL!P Challenge was designed to drive innovation and encourage out-of-the-box creativity amongst students studying in Singapore through its given material constraint. With the maturing of design in Singapore, the furniture industry is seeing many spectacular works by designers and students alike. Therefore, SFIC has raised the bar with its design competitions and encourages students and designers to pit their talents and skills at an international level by participating in the prestigious Furniture Design Award (FDA).

The 5th FLIP Challenge, with the theme, “FL!P a Chair”, saw a total 69 Erpo Dining Chairs, kindly sponsored by Star Furniture Industries Pte Ltd, being ‘flipped’ this year. 17 finalists’ works outshone the rest and the final judging for the 5th FL!P Challenge was done on 5 March 2009 and results were announced on the following day, together with the announcement of results for FDA 2009.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Open to students studying in any local institution in Singapore ONLY.
Participation is on individual or group (NOT more than two) basis.
Entries submitted must be newly created and original.

Bronze Award - S$500 Cash + Trophy + Certificate
Merit Award - Trophy + Certificate
