
The International Furniture Fair Singapore 2010/27th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2010), slated from 9 to 12 March 2010, has seen steady take-up of exhibition space by a strong line-up of debut exhibitors and loyal supporters from Singapore and around the world. With four months to the fair, more than 90 per cent of the total 40,000 square metres of nett exhibition space have already been booked, an affirmation of the fair’s standing on the global furniture trade scene.
IFFS/AFS 2010 has registered an increase in participation from nine different countries, with companies from Australia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and USA signing up for more exhibition space.
To date, a strong 80 per cent of the exhibition are made up of repeat exhibitors and of which, 25 per cent of these exhibitors will be taking up a larger showcase. In particular, international stalwart supporters, Kenas Pacific Pte Ltd and Halo Asia Limited, both from Hong Kong will be returning to IFFS/AFS 2010 as the two biggest exhibitors, bagging booths measuring 900 square metres and 700 squares metres respectively. Also looking to inspire buyers with their wealth of product ideas and exciting showcases are Koda Ltd from Singapore with a 670 square metres space and Zhejiang KUKA Technics Sofa Manufacture from China and Violino Limited from Hong Kong, both chalking up space of 600 square metres each.

Buyers can also expect to see a wide assortment of furniture pieces offered by first-time exhibitors from Asia and the world over. Companies making their debut at the fair include Ecolene and Amangriya (Indonesia), Lebello (USA), Maspar-Mahajan (India), SAP Products, Vintage Collection and Zooko Asia from Hong Kong. Newcomers from Singapore include Amardeep Fabrics Pte Ltd, Bali Connection Pte Ltd, Ballywilliam by Sianhall, Evershine Corporation Pte Ltd, Novaz Singapore Pte Ltd and St Louis Pte Ltd. Singapore Mozaic ambassador Lorenzo International (Singapore) Limited has also showed its support for IFFS/AFS by returning to the fair after a five-year hiatus.
IFFS/AFS 2010 has even attracted participation from SIA OŠUKALNS, a company specialising in soft furnishings, hailing all the way from Latvia and Bellagio Asia, an upholstery company from the Netherlands, further adding to the country representation at IFFS/AFS 2010, making it Asia’s one-stop sourcing haven.
Known for its distinctive focus on furniture design, visitors will also be able to feast their eyes on inspiring pieces by exhibitors at the PLATFORM 2010 where it sets as a petri dish of trendsetting ideas and as well as the Furniture Design Award (FDA) 2010 where many design talents shine. The FDA, now in its 17th edition saw an awesome increase of more than 90 per cent in the entry submissions for Students and Young Designers categories alone and their masterpieces can be previewed at the IFFS/AFS 2010 come March.
