Furniture Design Award 2008

To nurture design talents, SFIC organises the annual Furniture Design Award (FDA) to provide a high profile avenue for designers to express their creativity and gain recognition in the industry. It also encourages designers to network with local and overseas industry players, creating not only launch pads for their career in the furniture industry but also maintaining the dynamism and vibrancy of the regional furniture design trade.

The theme for FDA 2008 – “TENSION” – encourages participants in the Students and Young Designers categories to explore the element of tension in their design concepts, challenge their creativity to the hilt yet allow them tremendous free play in the process. Entries in the Open Category are not confined to the theme. The exhibits are displayed at Foyer 1, Singapore Expo.
