Member Assistance Scheme (MAS)

The 3rd Member Assistance Scheme (MAS), a financial package launched by SFIC in December 08, helps to assist members weather the current economic uncertainties. This is also our way of reciprocating the strong support that we have received from members over the last 27 years.

Under the 3rd MAS, up to S$1 million funding will be provided from SFIC’s coffers to help eligible members lower business costs, strengthen business capabilities and explore new business opportunities to ensure sustainability and facilitate market diversification efforts.

3rd MAS at a glance

1. The duration of the 3rd MAS will be from 1 January to 31 December 2009.

2. All SFIC Full and Associate Members who joined SFIC before 15 November 2008 are eligible for the scheme.

3. The 3rd MAS will be divided into two specific areas of financial assistance:

3.1 All eligible members will be allocated a quantum, ranging from a maximum of S$4,000 to S$500. The allocated quantum will be based on their membership status (whether the company is a full member or an associate member) and the length of their membership with SFIC. Members can draw on this quantum to offset the cost of participation in any SFIC activities as well as any approved Development Assistance Programmes by IE Singapore and SPRING Singapore.

3.2 Over and above the allocated quantum, the 3rd MAS also provides specific financial assistance to members participating in the International Furniture Fair Singapore 2009 / 26th ASEAN Furniture Show (IFFS/AFS 2009). This is aimed at helping members to develop internationalization capabilities and generate export business through IFFS/AFS.

Members participating in IFFS/AFS 2009 will be eligible for up to S$10,880 funding to defray their space rental costs.
