JULY 2018 FEATURE:
Archidex 2018 Highlights
The 18-year old ARCHIDEX show offers no lack of inspiration for trade professionals and students alike; with innovative exhibits, award competitions to uncover fresh talent and talks by thought leaders covering the latest materials, technologies and solutions.
For the architecture, interior design and building fraternity in the region, one trade event has been a constant calendar entry, year after year.
The 18-year old ARCHIDEX show offers no lack of inspiration for trade professionals and students alike; with innovative exhibits, award competitions to uncover fresh talent and talks by thought leaders covering the latest materials, technologies and solutions.
Each July, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre turns into a mecca of sorts, where buyers and material suppliers flock to the heart of Malaysia’s capital to see and talk all things architecture.
Despite the showcases from strong brands from all over the globe, our local players’ offerings are of international standard and have the booths to show for it.
Singapore is one of 12 country pavilions participating this year led by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC). Running the gamut of the best of what our Singapore furniture and furnishings brands have to offer, the participating local companies including Big Ass Fans, Catalyste, EDL, Greenlam, KompacPlus, TR Formliners and Great Year Industries.
Encouraged by the high quality trade visitors that fill the exhibition halls at past editions, over half of the Singapore Pavilion are ‘’repeat customers’’ eager to recreate their previous successes.
You can count on relatively newcomer KompacPlus to pull out all the bells and whistles to stand out from the sea of surface material players that permeate the show. And capturing eyeballs it certainly did. Looking more art exhibition than a trade booth, the Archidex 2018 Best Booth Design winner effortlessly swept judges off their feet with its design that evokes an oasis in the desert. Visitors will also not miss the donkey mascot courtesy of Archidex regular Big Ass Fans at its booth bathed in their brand’s signature yellow.
A constant stream of foot traffic and sales enquiries are what make or break a trade fair and there are certainly no signs of the format slowly anytime soon. The exhibition has been garnering steady growth through strategic planning and partnerships over the years according to the show organisers.
To keep the show format relevant and fresh, a revamp is in the works with the organiser promising a premium spot for future Singapore Pavilions. Participating companies can also look forward to dedicated networking sessions to reach out to Archidex attendees.
