SFIC's 35th Annual Dinner & Dance: All Around the World
More than 400 guests thronged the swanky Mandarin Orchard hotel on 11 November 2016 for a special gathering of friends of the furniture and furnishings industry. Graced by Guest-of-Honour Minister of State for Trade and Industry Dr Koh Poh Koon, the line up for SFIC’s Annual Dinner and Dance was jam packed with exciting entertainment programmes and special announcements.
The more adventurous came dressed in national costumes to fit the “All Around the World” theme. After all, best dressed awards typically only reward the brave. What’s a dinner and dance without some live music? An evening highlight, three finalists of SFIC’s Vocal Challenge were onstage to compete for the championship title, with F&B vouchers sponsored by Sunray Woodcraft Construction. Ms Celine Ng of Fraction Design’s impressive vocal prowess proved hard to beat. An emotional rendition of local pop star JJ Lin’s mandopop hit, “She Says”, earned her the top prize of a trophy and $1,000 F&B vouchers. Everyone was a winner – finalists Derrick Tan (IFFS) and student Jessica Lim each brought home $500 F&B Vouchers for their efforts. Upping the ante for a musical high, vocal coach and guest judge Cyril Toh gave a special two-song performance.
Every (great) party must come to an end but not without three lucky guests winning top travel prizes to Maldives, Chiang Rai and Cologne respectively.
