Singapore Archifest Expo and Future Living Asia Join Forces to Stage Shared Industry Platform at Inaugural Singapore Design Biennale
Co-located industry platform will bring architecture, interiors, furniture, materials and innovation together to shape the future of living
SINGAPORE, 23 July 2026 — The inaugural Future Living Asia by Singaplural (Future Living Asia) will be co-located with Singapore Archifest Expo, co-organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and TAC-Group Pte Ltd (TAC) in June 2027 at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.
Together, the two events will create an integrated industry platform connecting the people who design buildings with those who shape the spaces, products and experiences within them — bringing architecture, interiors, furniture, materials and innovation into a single collaborative ecosystem focused on the future of living.
Held strategically during the inaugural Singapore Design Biennale 2027 organised by DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), the co-located events will contribute to an extended celebration of Singapore’s design capabilities, while strengthening the country’s position as a regional hub for design excellence, innovation and future living.
A connected vision for the spaces of tomorrow
The way people live, work and interact is changing rapidly. Climate change, demographic shifts, evolving lifestyles and technological advancement are reshaping expectations of buildings, interiors and the products and technologies that support everyday living.
Responding to these shifts requires closer collaboration across architecture, interior design, furniture, materials, technology and the wider built environment. Future living is no longer shaped by individual disciplines, but through an interconnected ecosystem working together to create healthier, smarter, more sustainable and inclusive spaces.
The co-location of Archifest Expo and Future Living Asia reflects this shared vision. Presented in partnership with Dsg for the Singapore Design Biennale, the combined platform creates new opportunities for professional exchange, business collaboration and the development of practical solutions for future living and working environments.
Plans include curated exhibitions, immersive showcases, product and material displays, thought-leadership programmes, business matching and cross-disciplinary networking.
The expos will connect architects, interior designers, furniture manufacturers, retailers, developers, specifiers, material suppliers, technology providers, policymakers and international industry partners.
Ar. Tiah Nan Chyuan, President, Singapore Institute of Architects
“Tomorrow’s spaces will not be shaped by architects working alone. They will emerge from the combined thinking of architects, interior designers, furniture makers, landscape professionals, material specialists and technology partners.”
“By bringing Future Living Asia together with Archifest Expo, we are creating a platform where the wider design and built-environment ecosystem can exchange ideas and turn new possibilities into real solutions.”
“This collaboration is an important step towards positioning Singapore as a place where the future of living is not merely discussed, but actively designed.”
Connecting design with industry
As the inaugural edition of Future Living Asia, the platform will bring together businesses, innovators, designers and industry leaders to explore how future living environments can better respond to changing lifestyles, sustainability priorities and evolving societal needs, with a special focus on solutions for the growing silver generation.
Building on SFIC's vision of enabling future living and working spaces that touch lives, Future Living Asia will feature curated symposiums, immersive showcases and a trade exhibition designed to accelerate the exchange of ideas, showcase practical solutions and foster collaborations that will define the next generation of future living solutions.
Its co-location with Archifest Expo will provide participating businesses with greater access to architects, designers, developers and decision-makers involved in shaping the built environment, while creating new opportunities for partnerships across the design value chain.
Mr Joshua Koh, President, Singapore Furniture Industries Council
"Future Living Asia is more than an event – it is a platform for industry dialogue, innovation and collaboration. Our inaugural edition will place a focus on the needs of the growing silver generation. We believe design and innovation have a critical role to play in creating spaces that are healthier, safer, more inclusive and better equipped to support the community at every stage of life.
We are honoured to launch Future Living Asia alongside the Singapore Archifest Expo 2027. Together, we are strengthening Singapore's position as a leading hub for design excellence and innovation, while building a future living ecosystem that creates lasting value for businesses, communities and society."
Supporting Singapore’s design ambition
The collaboration reflects a broader ambition to strengthen connections across Singapore’s design ecosystem and create platforms capable of attracting regional and international participation.
By bringing industry, professional practice and design culture closer together, the co-located expos aim to generate new commercial opportunities while demonstrating design’s ability to address complex economic, environmental and social needs.
Ms Dawn Lim, Executive Director, DesignSingapore Council
“As a global design hub, Singapore serves as a gateway and marketplace connecting Asia to the world, and the world to Asia. By convening through a shared platform, SFIC and SIA are creating collective scale, greater capabilities and market reach for architects, designers and partners to exchange knowledge, forge relationships and accelerate innovation. This strengthens Singapore’s design ecosystem and reinforces our position as a global node for design.”
Singapore Archifest Expo and Future Living Asia will work together over the coming months to develop the exhibition, programme and partnership opportunities for 2027.
