Low Formaldehyde Commitment Pledge

Jointly formed by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC), and Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) in November 2021, the AfA seeks to bring together stakeholders across different sectors to create and enhance sustainable spaces. Supported by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the National Environment Agency (NEA), the AfA also aims to help solution providers and adopters seize opportunities in the green economy.

In support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the “Low Formaldehyde Commitment Statement” is the AfA’s effort to raise public awareness on the need for lower formaldehyde emissions indoors and to present new opportunities for suppliers of sustainable products and services that can improve wellness and quality of living. Formaldehyde is a pungent chemical that is commonly emitted from building products and household furnishings.

The following SFIC member companies were the pioneers in pledging to supply or adopt low or no formaldehyde products and solutions.
